(23.10.2008)                                                                                                                           New information about the member fee for new members who join in November-December 2008. Those who join in the last months of the year 2008 don't have to pay for the next year. Same goes for breeders who pays the memberfee for the kittenbuyers and/or pays for the advertising.

Suomen Siperiankissat ry opened a HCM-database on the memberpages in August 2008. All members can send their results from ultrasoundtests and get them publiced on this page. Even other than members can send their cats results to the database. If you are interested in helping us building up this database please contact Aino Artell, Hinkalokatu 4 B 14, 20540 Turku, aino.artell@gmail.com to get more information in english.

strävan är att befrämja och stöda forskningen kring HCM d.v.s. hypertrofisk kardiomyopati. Vi rekommenderar våra medlemmar att låta undersöka katternas hjärtan för HCM regelbundet samt att offentliggöra testresultaten. Föreningens medlemmar har även tidigar haft möjlighet att skicka in testresultaten till databasen men för att uppgifterna skall vara lättare tillgängliga för alla våra medlemmar har den nya HCM-databasen öppnats på medlemssidorna.

Collection of funds to the HCM-research. The club are collecting funds to support the upgoing researh in USA on siberian cats and the gene/genes that are behind the heartdisease. Every member can participate by donating a small optional amount. Every member who participates in the collection is named on the memberpage. The Siberian Cat of The Week becomes the Siberian Cat of The Month! Please send pictures of your adult cats to the webmaster if you want to see your own cat on this page for one month. Please attach the name of the cat, the cats titels and the name of the owner.

Gene test for siamese gene (cs) reselased 
Now it is possible to send a buccal swab (brush) to the laboratory at the UC Davis University in California, USA, to find out if the cat carries the Siamese gene.  More on the web site:
